Detailed description of South Padre Island Golf Club
South Padre Island Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Laguna Vista, Texas.
The course was designed by Chris Cole and Stephen Caplinger. The course opened for play in 1997.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,931 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,406 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-5 that plays to 571 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 133 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for #9, a 455 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is #12, a 133 yard par-3.
$10 (cart included), played on Monday, September 2013 at 10am
The course was only OK, due mostly to a hard rain the previous night that left the cart paths almost unmanagable. The underpass going to the 10th hole was full of water, and you had to cross a street to get to the hole. The greens were in less than satisfactory condition, very thin and extra fast, even after the heavy rain. I would not want to pay the going rate to play this course.

Thought the course was in good condition considering all the rain they had a couple of weeks prior. The only problem..a Huge problem..was the Mosquitoes! In my opinion course should not have been open but we had prepaid and played as quick as anyone has ever played. It was unbelieveably bad! Call ahead!
